Prepare for a spectacle with Sonic Combine LIVE
“Sonic Combine” AKA “The Robert Rauschenberg Studio House Band” performs on Custom Audio Sculptures, Synthesizers, World Flutes, and Theremin.
The trio consists of long-time friends, Lawrence Voytek, Kat Epple, and Laurence Getford, each of whom are highly regarded artists and musicians in their own right. Together, they create an abstract sound that is not always musical, sometimes discordant, regularly beautiful, often powerful, and truly interesting.

Sonic Combine (Laurence Getford, Lawrence Voytek, and Kat Epple) performs live for the closing reception for Rauschenberg 40 art exhibition. The alternative audio performance ensemble, "Sonic Combine” creates abstract sound which is not always musical, sometimes discordant, regularly beautiful, often powerful, and truly interesting. It is performed on metal sculptures, electronic instruments, world flutes, and Theremin, by long-time friends, Lawrence Voytek, Kat Epple, and Laurence Getford. The trio were friends with and worked with legendary visual artist Bob Rauschenberg, and were the Bob Rauschenberg Studio “House Band” for many years.

"Around the World with Flutes" concert/lecture
at Captiva Memorial Library, 3PM, Wednesday, Feb 20, 2019
Composer, flutist, and storyteller, Kat Epple, will transport the audience to exotic locales,
with a treasure trove of indigenous flutes that she has collected from her extensive travels
around the world. The concert/talk includes a description of the flutes’ origins,
and short performances on the instruments made of wood, silver, tin, bamboo, and bone.
The Emmy and Peabody Award-winning artist has released 36 music albums,
composes music for film scores (National Geographic, Travel Channel, etc),
and performs in concert around the world.
